When I first started this blog it was with the intent of exploring different ways in which to get behind the music that I love and support creative people who I feel deserve more attention. This extends beyond the music in and of itself to all the other creative aspects inextricably tied to it. With this in mind, it is always great to encounter artists that have the same passion and enthusiasm for the music as I do, who go beyond the immediate and the necessary because that is the only way they know how. Elefo is one of these artists. A musician and artist, his music is just one element of a far reaching creative compulsion. Having hit him up for a quick chat, he has provided us with an in-depth insight into into his music and an exclusive free track with great artwork and a video to accompany it.

LIMINAL SOUNDS 03 @ RHYTHM FACTORY, SAT 14TH JAN

Following a brief hiatus we are returning to Rhythm Factory to start 2012 on the right foot. We have some big plans for the coming year so hopefully this will only be the start. As ever taking the lineup down a different musical path, we have brought together a collection of our favourite producers and DJs who we believe you will be hearing a lot more from next year.

This night will also act as the launch for the brand new website that we are currently working on!

LIMINAL SOUNDS VOL.10: BLACKWAX

It was reported recently that contrary to all the signs that music as a physical format is dying vinyl sales have risen by 55% in the last year. As the music industry at large continues to try and quell the tide of leaks, poor quality rips and illegal downloads that threaten to bring it down on a day to day basis, it is clear that vinyl still retains a power that is helping it to stay alive. Be it the warmer sound quality, its tangibility or purely the mystery that lies within its grooves, the extensive connotations of vinyl as a bastion of underground electronic music remain. It is with this larger context in mind that I would suggest that the production moniker of Luke Dubuis and Ross Addy, AKA Blackwax, so succinctly captures the spirit of their musical endeavours.

INTERVIEW: BLIXABOY

In an increasingly scene-led climate, where a new sub-genre is coined practically every day, a lot of producers become fundamentally intertwined with the movement of which they are a part. However, there are some artists who refuse to define themselves by any one sound, defiantly moving forward with each new project, each new song, instead drawing their identity from their constant mutation and evolution; Wanz Dover is one such artist. From founding space rock band Mazinga Phaser in the nineties to starting the Laptop Deathmatch competition in Dallas, he has strived to push the boundaries of forward-thinking and experimental music for the best party of twenty years.
